The Art of Environment Storytelling for Video Games

The Art of Environment Storytelling for Video Games

Gnomon brings top artists from Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, and Monolith to the Stage for an afternoon of inspiring presentations and industry insights. Join Brian Horton (Art Director at Infinity Ward), Josh Lynch (Senior Texture Artist at Monolith), Rogelio Olguin (Environment Modeling and Texture Artist/Shader at Naughty Dog), and Brian Recktenwald (Environment Artist at Naughty Dog), as we journey through the stages of environment creation for award-winning video games. See firsthand how various roles are connected and hear from a veteran art director how video game worlds are brought to life through the art of visual storytelling. The event will begin with a close-up look at texturing and shading, and culminate in a high-level view from Infinity Ward’s Brian Horton. Combined speaker credits include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Last of Us, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Call of Duty, Tomb Raider, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
