The Art of Ant-Man & The Wasp with Marvel Studios

Thursday, July 12th, 2018, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Whether they’re designing enormous tissue-growing, green-skinned warriors or rapidly shrinking, astonishingly tiny superheroes, Marvel Studios’ Visual Development Department has mastered its ability to visualize the look and feel of the Marvel cinematic universe. Ant-Man and the Wasp premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on June 25 and hits cinemas July 6, 2018. On the heels of the US release, six of the Marvel Studios Visual Development team will assemble at the Lenovo Stage at Gnomon School of Visual Effects on July 12 to uncover the stunning work that went into designing Ant-Man and the Wasp, Marvel’s 20th movie.

The art-packed presentation at Gnomon will be led by Andy Park, the project leader and Supervisor of Marvel Studio’s Visual Development team – who were responsible for designing the characters, costumes, props, and the overall visual look of the film. Joining Andy at the Lenovo Stage will be Marvel Studios’ Visual Development illustrators Jackson Sze, Anthony Francisco, Ian Joyner, Tully Summers, and Stephen Schirle. The artists will examine the concepts, illustrations, and keyframes, and reveal how 3D tools were critical in creating characters and assets for the Ant-Man universe during the pivotal concept design phase of the moviemaking process.

Seating is limited. Be sure to RSVP to join Gnomon and the Marvel Studios artists to explore how they developed the art that helped the director and studio visualize the movie, including the dynamic characters, epic battles, and powerful new enemy! This is an exclusive event that will not be streamed live or recorded.
