Stylized Character Creation: From Concept to Completion

On Thursday, July 25th, Gnomon welcomes Character Development Artist, 3D Modeler, and Gnomon alumnae Leticia Gillett for an evening of stylized character development and creation.
Join Leticia for a casual conversation about the stylized character development process as she walks through one of her most recent pieces, “La Familia.” In addition to character creation, Leticia will be talking on the importance of personal projects and how to craft your personal work to support your professional portfolio.
Whether you would like to learn more about creating relatable, stylized characters or are looking to get a better grasp on personal project management, this event is sure to be jam-packed with awesome advice and helpful hints you can use in your work.
Seating is limited, so be sure to RSVP and arrive in good time to secure a place in line. Attendee check-in will open at approximately 6:30 PM and a valid Eventbrite RSVP will be required to get an event wristband. Admission is first-come first-served and a wristband does not guarantee entry. If you are unable to make it to campus, you can watch the event live on Gnomon's Twitch channel.
Attendees are welcome to join a guided tour of Gnomon before the event. The tour will start at 7pm from the check-in station, and all attendees on the tour will be guaranteed a reserved seat to the event.
Gnomon School of VFX's full-time programs and 10-week individual courses are designed to develop well-rounded artists that are skilled in the diverse disciplines within 3D production. For those outside of the US, virtual classroom-style online courses are also available.

Guest Speakers
Character Development Artist, Netflix Animation
Leticia Gillett is a 3D modeler and texture artist with a focus on bringing characters and environments to life. Leticia worked in Brazil in architecture visualization before moving to the US to study at Gnomon. After finishing school, she worked for various studios including Disney Consumer Products, Blizzard Entertainment as a 3D Character Artist on Overwatch, and DreamWorks Animation as a 3D modeler. Today, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband, strange cat Mia, and crazy dog Sadie, and is currently working at Netflix Animation as Character Development Artist.
