Rethinking Workflow: Inspiring Creative Thinking in 3D

Rethinking Workflow: Inspiring Creative Thinking in 3D

Join us on Thursday, April 14th, for an evening with Till Nowak, the award-winning digital artist, designer, and filmmaker from Hamburg, Germany. Having recently completed work as a Concept Artist for Marvel Studios in Los Angeles, Till will be taking the stage at Gnomon to shine a light on some of the creative solutions that have enabled him to become a better and more versatile artist. Unlike when working in production and post-production, designing in an art department requires visual results that matter more than the process used to create the concept. Through his discussion about workflow, Till will encourage improvisation and invention beyond traditional methods. “I believe this kind of thinking should be available to every CG artist, but at the same time should not contradict the standards that are important in a production pipeline,” Till Nowak comments. “All 3D artists just have to be aware and know when to use what. I will point out the importance and differences of these aspects in my talk.” His presentation will also discuss his signature workflows that utilize camera-mapping and match-moving to create hybrid worlds.

The event is free and open to the public. RSVP today. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis. If you can't make it to Hollywood, be sure to follow Gnomon on Livestream to tune in online. Questions can be pitched to the speakers on Twitter during the live event using #gnomon.
