Digital Painting Techniques: Landscape Illustration
Brush up on your digital painting techniques at Gnomon on Thursday, November 10th, at 7:30 PM PDT with professional instructors and digital artists, Cliff Cramp and Jason Dunn. The sessions will delve into the key skills needed to build successful landscape illustrations in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop, including how to define composition, vantage points, and focal points, as well as tips for establishing shape, form, color, contrast, and temperature in your digital paintings. Cliff’s presentation will focus on Painter, including a live Painter 17 demo, and Jason will share techniques for Photoshop.

Cliff Cramp's illustration work spans a wide range of genres in entertainment, including background painting for animation, comics, CD and DVD cover art, board games, game art, editorial, and book illustration. Cliff's clients have included Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, United Artists, Hollywood Records, Nickelodeon TV Animation, Disney Entertainment, Penguin Books, Corel Painter, and more.
Painter and Instructor
Jason Dunn has a broad background in traditional art, which he has parlayed into his 15-year career as a concept artist, compositor, art director, and matte painter for film, television, and commercials. His skills as a painter can also be seen in his illustrations, album designs, portraiture and book cover art. Credits include Cloud Atlas (Matte Painter), After Earth (Concept Artist), and many more.
