An Evening with ZERO VFX: The Art of Invisible Visual Effects
Join us on Wednesday, April 6th, at 7:30 PM, for an evening with ZERO VFX, the Boston- and Los Angeles-based company that prides itself on delivering visual effects that have the power to trick even highly trained eyes. Though the extravagant beasts and impressive spacecraft of blockbuster movies may regularly steal the spotlight, there is an inspiring – and often overlooked – art to crafting visual effects that no one is ever meant to notice. In this presentation at Gnomon by ZERO's VFX supervisor,Rob Nederhorst, you will take a leap into the hidden world of unseen visual effects. From set extensions to changing entire seasons, he'll talk you through the incredibly complex and meticulous work required for creating “invisible” VFX. With notable examples from Black Mass, Southpaw, The Equalizer andHardcore Henry, you'll learn the methodologies and challenges involved.
The event is free and open to the public. RSVP today. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis. If you can't make it to Hollywood, be sure to follow Gnomon on Livestream to tune in online. Questions can be pitched to the speakers on Twitter during the live event using #gnomon.
