An Evening with Grzegorz Jonkajtys: Combining CG Animation & Miniature Sets
Join us for an evening with the award-winning Filmmaker, Animator and VFX Artist, Grzegorz Jonkajtys. As well as working as a Senior Artist at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), where he’s contributed to The Revenant and Warcraft, Grzegorz is developing The Fourth Horseman with Intrepid Pictures, plus a feature film based on the stop-motion 70s Polish TV series, Teddy Floppy Ear.
An Evening with Grzegorz Jonkajtys is an opportunity to learn a host of techniques from an esteemed artist and director with over 15 years of experience. The presentation will focus on how he created a four-minute test short for Teddy Floppy Ear using a combination of live-action, miniature backgrounds, and CG characters. The same technique was nominated for the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 and won the prestigious SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater Best of Show Award in the same year for Grzegorz’s short film, ARK. The event will include behind-the-scenes insights, techniques, video material from live-action shoots, plus more. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions – both live in the Gnomon stage and on Twitter.
For a fascinating insight into how a mixed media film project comes to life, and to meet the artist in person, RSVP now. The event is free and open to the public. Entry is by RSVP only, and seating is first-come-first-served. If you can't make it to Hollywood, be sure to follow Gnomon on Livestream to watch the full event around the world.
